GSHS full membership
The full membership of doctoral candidates ends automatically
  • • with the completion of the doctorate, usually with the handing over of the doctoral degree certificate;
  • • with the end of registration as a doctoral candidate at JGU or
  • • with the cancellation of the doctorate.
The Director of the GSHS must be notified of these reasons for termination without delay. Members can also declare their resignation in writing to the director at any time and thus terminate their membership. The possibility of funding ends with the end of full membership. Financially supported but not yet completed projects will be settled at this time. Please contact the office if you have any questions. Important note: Admission as a member of the GSHS does not replace the procedural steps in accordance with the relevant doctoral degree regulations, such as the application for acceptance as a doctoral candidate or enrolment as a doctoral student. The faculties/rectorates have sole responsibility for carrying out doctoral examination procedures in accordance with applicable doctoral regulations. Admission as a member of the GSHS does not in itself confer student or doctoral candidate status.
